Biography
Kamala Koli is a Community Health Worker Leader (CHWL) at Possible. She lives in a small town a 45 minute walk from Bayalpata Hospital in rural Nepal. Kamala is 1 of 14 women that serve as CHWLs for their communities. She has been a team member for over 3 years. Like all CHWLs, she was nominated by her village because of her dedication to change health care practices and serve the poorest. She has a personal interest in changing the tradition of delivering babies at home after she had a nearly fatal experience delivering her own child. Kamala is responsible for leading a team of 10 Community Health Workers that provide a dispersed population of nearly 2500 people with health education, referral, and follow-up services.
