Mr. Marvin R. Ellison has been the Chief Executive Officer of J. C. Penney Company, Inc. since August 1, 2015 and has been its Chairman since August 1, 2016. Mr. Ellison served as President of J. C. Penney Company, Inc. since November 1, 2014. He served as an Executive Vice President of U.S. Stores at The Home Depot, Inc. from August 25, 2008 to October 31, 2014 and wais responsible for the operations of the nearly 2,000 stores. With an extensive background in Operations, Loss Prevention and Process Improvement, Mr. Ellison has over 23 years of retail experience. He served as the President of Northern Division at The Home Depot, Inc. from January 2006 to August 2008 and was responsible for the sales, profit and operations of over 650 stores in the Midwest and northeastern United States. He served as Senior Vice President of Global Logistics of The Home Depot Inc. from August 2005 to January 2006 and as its Vice President of Logistics from October 2004 to August 2005. He joined Home Depot Inc. in 2002 and served as its Vice President of Loss Prevention from June 2002 to October 2004. Mr. Ellison spent 15 years at Target Corporation from 1987 to June 2002, where he held various management and executive level positions and was Director of Assets Protection. He served as a Director of J. C. Penney Company, Inc. since November 1, 2014. He has been an Independent Director of FedEx Corporation since March 10, 2014. He has been a Director at Federal Express Corporation (US) since August 8, 2015. He has been Director of US Home Systems Inc since October 26, 2012. He served as an Independent Director of H&R Block, Inc. from September 14, 2011 to September 11, 2014. Mr. Ellison earned Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of Memphis and Master of Business Administration from Emory University.
