Biography
Dr. Raulet is a tumor immunologist who holds the Esther and Wendy Schekman Chair in Basic Cancer Biology, and is a Professor of Immunology and Pathogenesis in the department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. His research primarily addresses the specificity and function of innate lymphocytes such as natural killer (NK) cells, and T cells. His efforts focus on mechanisms of tumor immune-surveillance and approaches for immunotherapy of cancer. Over a period of 33 years, he has played a significant role in defining inhibitory and activating receptors on NK cells and mechanisms of tumor recognition mediated by these receptors, and the roles of these receptors in tumor immune-surveillance.
