Biography

 Elka completed her degree in Law, with specialization in Intellectual Property, at the University of Utrecht in 1998. She followed some parts of her law studies at the University of Sydney, Australia. Following her university degree she worked at two of the larger Dutch trademark agencies as trademark and design attorney. During this period she has worked for both clients with large international trademark portfolios and for clients in the small and medium-sized company sector. So she has acquired a wide experience in all aspects of trademark and industrial design law, such as advice regarding the adoption of a certain trademark, searches after the availability of marks, due diligence, advice regarding and assistance with registration procedures, advice and consultation in relation to portfolio administration and management. She joined the Enschede office of Arnold + Siedsma in 2012.
