Glyn Barker

Biography

  Glyn was appointed to the board of Aviva plc in February 2012 and became Senior Independent Non-Executive Director on 10 May 2017. Glyn has extensive experience as a business leader and a trusted adviser to FTSE100 companies and their boards on a wide variety of corporate and finance issues. He possesses a deep understanding of accounting and regulatory issues together with in-depth transactional and financial services experience. Currently Glyn is Chairman of Irwin Mitchell (law firm) and Interserve plc (international support services and construction), and a Non-Executive Director of Berkeley Group Holdings plc (construction) and Transocean Limited (offshore drilling). Glyn is also an adviser for Novalpina Capital, a private equity firm.  Formerly Vice Chairman, UK of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) with responsibility for leading the executive team for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India region, following a long and successful career with the firm. He held a number of other senior positions at PwC, including UK managing partner, UK head of assurance and a member of its UK management board.
