Biography
Liesbeth was trained as a biopharmaceutical scientist at the Leiden University. In 2007, she obtained her PhD on research conducted at the department of Pathology at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) in Leiden, the Netherlands, where she investigated the role of EXT genes and growth signaling pathways in cartilaginous tumors. Liesbeth’s first post-doc project was a collaboration between the departments of Toxicogenetics (now Human Genetics) and Dermatology at the LUMC and focused on the molecular profiling of non-melanoma skin cancers. During this project she also collaborated with Abdoel and colleagues at the LUMC to optimize skin cancer HSEs. A second post-doc project at the Dermatology department focused on the validation of new small molecules to inhibit the EPHA4 kinase in skin lymphomas. After almost three years as account manager for Bio-connect, Liesbeth decided to combine her scientific background with her sales experience and made the switch to Biomimiq as project manager.
