Biography
Andrei Metrikine is currently Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Professor and is head of the Wave Mechanics Research Group, based in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. He graduated in radio-physics from the State University of Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia in 1989 and received his PhD and DSc in 1992 and 1998 in St.Petersburg, Russia. In 1994-1998 he held a number of post-doctoral positions, including one at the Institute for Mechanics of the Hannover University, Germany awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt foundation. Since 1999 Andrei is employed by TU Delft.
