Biography
Johan Blanker received his master’s degree after conducting a research on TiO2 nanoparticles as back reflector material for thin film solar cells. This research was done at the Photovoltaic Materials and Devices (PVMD) group.  After a year of exploring entrepreneurial opportunities he has returned as PhD candidate. He started the PhD work in the PVMD group at TU Delft in April 2014. Currently, he is working on the LIMIET project, a cooperative project with TU/e and industrial partners such as TNO. The goal of this project is to minimize the absorber layer in CIGS solar cells, maintaining decent efficiencies. This is to be achieved by active light management as for example texturing surfaces and modifying seed layers. Also, extensive research will be done on simulation of these type of solar cells.
