Biography
Marinus has a MSc degree in Resource Engineering from Delft University of Technology. During his MSc thesis project he investigated the applicability of NIR spectroscopy for characterising porphyry copper ores on their economic value. This with the aim of developing sensor based sorting solutions for ore-waste discrimination of these ore types. After the MSc, he continued working on this topic as a PhD researcher. The PhD project is focussed on gold ores and except for only testing the NIR sensor he is testing a range of different sensor techniques including optical, DE-XRT, XRF, LIBS, RAMAN, MIR and LWIR sensors.
