Biography
Marinus Fischer graduated as Ingenieur (Dutch equivalent to M.Sc.) in applied physics at the University of Twente. His master research project was a scanning tunneling microscopy study of self-organizing metallic nanowires on the germanium surface. He joined the Photovoltaic Materials and Devices group as a PhD student in June 2009. His research deals with the optimization of amorphous absorbing layers of thin-film silicon solar cells. The goal of the project is to minimize light induced degradation of the solar cell by implementing structurally ordered domains in the intrinsic layer (ENSIS project).
