Biography
Max van der Kolk was born in Heemskerk (The Netherlands) on August 16th, 1992. In 2010 he moved to Delft to attain both my BSc and MSc in mechanical engineering from Delft University of Technology. Currently, Max is pursuing my PhD degree in the Structural Optimization and Mechanics research section. His objective is to combine interesting physics into design optimization. In the past he has combined viscoelastic material behavior with frequency domain optimization to attenuate mechanical vibrations. His current work focusses on exploiting the interaction between fluid, thermal, and mechanical domains to achieve desired transient, thermo-mechanical responses by topology optimization.
