Biography
My main research interests are conditioning of models to data (data assimilation), model simulation, and model-based optimization, with a particular interest in ensemble-based methods. I have applied such methods in the past to ocean models (global ocean tides and state estimation), and currently focus on subsurface flow models as used for the management of oil and natural gas assets, for CO2 storage, and in geothermal applications. Related topics include the construction of fast models through model order reduction and data-driven models.
