Biography
Dr. Taheri received his PhD from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Delft University of Technology in 2012. He worked on “interfacial bonding mechanisms of carboxylic coatings on pretreated zinc surfaces†defended with distinction of “Cum Laude†under the supervision of Prof. Hans de Wit, Dr. Arjan Mol (TU Delft) and Prof. Herman Terryn (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). Afterwards, he continued his research as a postdoc at the same group on “adhesion and delamination mechanisms of multilayer organic field joint coatings on carbon steelâ€. In September 2014, he joined Prof. Ali Javey’s group at the University of California, Berkeley working on "atomic-scale control of the surface charge-transfer" as a postdoc researcher under Rubicon-NWO individual grant. He is currently a research associate in our group working on a multidisciplinary project entitled “corrosion inhibition and dealloying descriptorsâ€.
