Biography
Her current research focuses on the gendered impacts of and political responses to the ongoing wave of transnational and national commercial land deals.Gender roles and dynamics are the lens through which she analyzes the social impacts of economic land concessions and corporativization of agriculture in rural communities in Cambodia. She is also interested in the interplay of gender, age, civil status and ethnicity in shaping the ability of different rural actors to participate in decision-making, cooperation and resistance. In broader terms, She is looking at the implications of the gendered impacts of land grabs for trajectories of agrarian change and policy options.
