Biography
Nico van der Sar studied mathematics in Leiden and econometrics in Amsterdam. In 1991 he obtained his PhD from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam with a dissertation on 'Applied Utility Analysis'. Since 1993 he has been an associate professor in the Finance section. His field of research is in investors risk, portfolio theory, anomalies, share admission to listing and behavioural finance. He has published in several international journals, including the Journal of Human Resources, the Journal of Economic Psychology, the Economist and a book called Share Yields: Ration and Psychology (in Dutch) in 2002
