Biography
CURRENT RESEARCH His PhD dissertation seeks to identify analytical histories of emergence behind the persistence of poor school performance. The empirical assessment of the project draws on the ontology of Critical Realism – and particularly in Margaret Archer’s Social Theory -, to study the experience of primary and secondary schools in northern Colombia. My research methodology integrates different quantitative and qualitative methods to answer questions about causation. This doctoral dissertation represents an epistemic alternative to both positivist and postmodern traditions in educational research.
