Biography
Her work focuses on embodied resistance to the violence of coloniality. The main aspect of coloiality that conerns my research is that of erasure. She look at resistance to the erasure of ways of knowing (epistemicide), also to the erasure of specific bodies marked by the systems of race and gender (feminicide). Her research looks at these forms of resistance to these two forms of erasue in Mexico. Resistance to epistemicide is looked at through the case of traditional midwives that work in a public hospital in Chiapas, Mexico. Resistance to feminicides is looked at the work of female hip-hop artists in Mexico. Her work is concerned with the politics of knowledge.
