Biography
Hamid Hoveyda received his education in Canada (PhD, UBC) and USA (postdoctoral, Harvard). He has over 15 years of industrial experience starting at Affymax Research Institute (CA, USA) where he worked on applications of diversity-oriented synthesis in drug discovery. Later, at Tranzyme Pharma (Canada), he contributed to the platform HTS library technology and was in charge of lead optimization efforts across several projects that resulted in two clinical candidates (ulimorelin, TZP102) as potential GI therapeutics. Since September 2007, he has led medicinal chemistry efforts on various GPCR targets at Euroscreen, including hit-to-lead discovery/optimization of ESN364. His scientific contributions thus far have been captured in over fifty publications and patents.
