Biography
Fred Lindberg is senior director of data insights engineering at Flatiron Health where he focuses on the management and analysis of clinical data to help clinicians and researchers gain insights that facilitate and improve patient care. Prior to Flatiron, Fred was senior vice president at Experian Marketing Services and chief technology officer at CheetahMail, where he led technology and product development from early startup through rapid growth and acquisition by Experian. Before transitioning to the technology industry, he served as assistant professor of medicine and infectious diseases at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. As assistant professor, Fred led his lab in research on the role of CD47 in the regulation of immune activation. During this time, Fred also served as attending physician in medicine and infectious diseases at Barnes Hospital, St Louis. Fred has published numerous research papers on immune activation, antibiotic resistance and disease mechanisms in peer-reviewed academic journals including Science, Nature, and the Journal of Experimental Medicine. Fred received his MD and PhD degrees from Umea University in Sweden. Following his internship, he completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Washington University in St. Louis. He is the recipient of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Physician-Scientist award, NIH RO1 and other research grants. Fred holds a license to practice medicine in Missouri and in Sweden.
