Sake Van Wageningen

Biography

Sake studied biology at the Utrecht University and later on specialized in the development and the use of molecular tools in the field of genetics. He performed research in labs in the Netherlands, UK and USA and published his work in high-impact journals, such as Cell and Blood. Sake got his PhD from the UMC Nijmegen, where he studied the function of specific fusion genes in Leukemia. He was also a post-doctoral fellow in the Bernards-lab at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek. Sake joined the R&D department of GenDx at the start of 2017, where he will apply his experience to further develop genetic typing tools. At GenDx he combines his interest in the development of molecular biology tools with his passion for improving healthcare by creating excellent products for diagnostic research.
