Founder of InSolutions (2006). He has graduated in 1977 cum laude at the faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. After graduation, he worked until 1981 at the Dr. Neher Research Llaboratory of PTT (The Netherlands). He started up and managed an applied research group in the field of model-based process control at Philipsas a next step. In 1987 he received his PhD from Eindhoven University of Technology in the field of industrially applied process identification techniques, which he developed within his research group at Philips. He is co-founder of two successful companies IPCOS b.v. (founded in 1990, in 1993 sold to Setpoint Inc. and since 1996 part of AspenTech Inc.) and IPCOS Technology b.v. (founded in 1998, in 2002 merged with ISMC NV (B) and integrated under IPCOS NV (B)). He is part-time professor at Eindhoven University of Technology as of 1990 and was director of IPCOS until Augustus 2006. As of September 2006 he is full-time professor and dean of the faculty of Electrical Engineering of Eindhoven University of Technology. He is still active as professor in the field of model based control. In Spring 2006 he founded InSolutions b.v. to develop and introduce the Chemical Transistor technology to the market.
