Biography
Ad van Gorp is a co-founder of Lead Pharma and has served as CEO since the inception of the company in 2007. Prior to that, he was a member of the management team of Kiadis in Groningen, The Netherlands, where he was responsible for business development. Other previous positions include senior scientist at Numico research and Senior researcher at Unilever Research in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands, where he supervised the assay development and high throughput screening departments. Ad van Gorp had a fellow position at Janssen Pharmaceutical responsible for the development of cellular models for Alzheimer's disease. Before starting his career in the pharmaceuticals industry, Ad van Gorp worked as a post-doc fellow in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Leuven, Belgium, and as a post-doc fellow at the University of Amsterdam. He holds a degree in biology with specialization on biochemistry and molecular biology from Utrecht University and has obtained his PhD in cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology from the Cardiovascular Research Institute, University of Maastricht, The Netherlands, and Inserm Institute in Paris, France.
