Biography
Joanne Mol is lecturer and at present also the Programme Director of the Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden University, the Netherlands. She studied Quaternary Geology at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and did her PhD thesis on the effects of climate changes on rivers. In Leiden she teaches mainly geoarchaeology with emphasis on natural site formation processes and archaeological prospection.
Research Interest
Her research focuses on geoarchaeology, which involves palaeolandscape reconstruction and natural site formation. Region of interest: Europe. She is currently involved in the field project of Dr. Marie Soressi at the palaeolithic site les Cottés in France. Here, she investigates the landscape evolution of the valley in front of the cave.
