Biography
Dr. Françozo studied Social Anthropology at Unicamp (Brazil). Prior to her appointment at Leiden University, she was a post-doctoral teaching fellow at the Department of Anthropology at Unicamp (Brazil). She has also been a research fellow at Cedla (University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands); Moesgaard Museum (Aarhus University, Denmark); Gotha Forschungszentrum (Erfurt University, Germany); and the National Museum of Ethnology (Leiden, The Netherlands). At present, Dr. Françozo is also a post-doctoral researcher within the ERC-Synergy Project NEXUS1492. Together with André Delpuech (Musée du quai Branly, Paris), she is developing a comprehensive inventory of Caribbean archaeological collections in public European museums.
Research Interest
Currently, Dr. Françozo is working on a research project about the book Historia Naturalis Brasiliae (Piso and Marcgraf, 1648). Her research has been supported by grants awarded by the Leiden Global Interactions Research Profile, the CEDLA- Slicher van Bath-de Jong Funds, IBERMUSEUS, the Coimbra Group, FAPESP, CNPq, and Capes funding agencies.
