Biography
"Esther 't Gilde first studied at the University of Utrecht, where she obtained a bachelor in medicine. She studied archaeology at Leiden University with a focus on human osteoarchaeology, zoology and North West Europe. In her bachelors thesis she researched the use of osteoarthritis in the reconstruction of activity in past populations. For her masters degree 'Human Osteology and Funerary Archaeology', her research was comprised of the evaluation of physical stress in bones and teeth and its influence on stature in a sample of the population from Middenbeemster. She is currently a laboratory assistant at the Laboratory for Human Osteoarchaeology."
