Alan Dickinson

Biography

  Alan is a highly regarded retail and commercial banker having spent 37 years with the Royal Bank of Scotland, most notably as Chief Executive of RBS UK, and more recently as a Non-executive Director of Nationwide Building Society and Chairman of its Risk Committee. Alan’s strategic focus and core banking experience complements the balance of skills on our Board. Alan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and the Royal Statistical Society. He has an MBA from the Manchester Business School and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Birmingham. External appointments: Alan is the Chairman of Urban & Civil plc and a Governor of Motability. Former appointments: Alan was Chief Executive of RBS UK and a member of its Executive Committee. He was formerly Chairman of Brown, Shipley & Co Limited and a Non-executive Director of Nationwide Building Society, Carpetright plc and Willis Limited where he was Chairman of its Risk Committee.
