Biography
Nick has significant financial services experience, particularly in insurance where he has served as Chief Executive of Lloyd’s of London and Prudential UK and Europe as well as Chairman of Brit Insurance. He has the knowledge and experience to provide valuable insight and contribute effectively as a Non-Executive Director and Member of the Audit Committee and Risk Committee. Nick has a First Class Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the Balliol College, University of Oxford. External appointments: Nick is Chairman of the Royal Northern College of Music and the Financial Conduct Authority’s Financial Advice Working Group. He is a member of the Board of Opera Ventures. Former appointments: Nick was a member of the BBC Trust. He was a Non-Executive Director of the Prudential Regulation Authority. Prior to this role, he was Chairman of Brit Insurance and a Non-executive Director of Legal and General Plc. He is a former Chief Executive of Lloyd’s of London and a member of the Lloyd’s Council. From 2006 to 2009 he was Chief Executive of Prudential UK and Europe and a member of the Prudential plc Board. From 2007 until 2009 he was Chairman of the Financial Services Practitioner Panel and until 2017 Chairman of the Britten-Pears Foundation.
