Giovanni Liverani

Biography

Giovanni Liverani has been the Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Generali Deutschland Holding and Country Manager of Germany since April 2015.   Career Prior to that, he was since November 2013 the Regional Officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), which includes Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Guernsey, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Greece, the UAE, Turkey and Tunisia. He supported the start-up of the restructuring project at Generali Italia during 2013 as Head of the Business Performance Management Unit Central Europe (Italy, Germany, Switzerland). Between 2006 and 2013 he spent seven years internationally as Area Manager and Head of the Business Coordination Unit for Generali in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. During this period he took part in the major restructuring of German operations and launched several International group projects like “Canalgrande” and “Customer as an Asset”, aimed at strengthening the customer centricity and distribution power of the Group. In 1993 to 1994, he co-founded Genertel S.p.A., the Italian leader in direct insurance sales, which he developed from policy n. 1 into a large and innovative web insurer in the following years until 2005. Giovanni graduated in Engineering in 1990 at the “Politecnico di Milano” university with a major in industrial technology. He joined the Group Management Committee (GMC) of Assicurazioni Generali in January 2015. Giovanni is the Chairman of the management board and CEO of Generali Deutschland Holding and served in the past in several boards of Generali Group`s Companies as chairman or deputy chairman like Generali Vienna Holding AG, Vienna, Generali Vida Companhia De Seguros S.A., Lisbon, Generali España Holding De Entidades De Seguros S.A., Madrid, Generali Schweiz Holding AG, Adliswil, Generali Belgium S.A., Brussels.
