Biography
Jeffrey A. Kaplan is executive vice president and chief legal officer for LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies. He was appointed to the Company’s Management Board in May 2015. In addition to leading the Legal department, he has management responsibility for the Company’s Government Relations and Corporate Communications functions. Kaplan joined LyondellBasell in December 2009 as deputy general counsel. Prior to joining the Company, he served in a variety of leadership roles at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, including deputy general counsel. From 1992 to 2001 he was in private law practice in Houston, Texas. He serves on the national board of directors for the General Counsel Forum and the board of the Houston Bar Foundation. He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and Houston Bar Foundation. Kaplan earned a Bachelor of Science from Amherst College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law.
