Biography
As COO, Matt leads a global team that provides operational support to projects, sites and scientists in MedImmune. In addition to his MedImmune general management role, Matt regularly works with the AstraZeneca CEO and Senior Executive Team to lead enterprise-wide strategy development and implementation. Matt combines a background in science, drug discovery, and pharmaceutical business. He graduated with a Double First Class degree in Natural Sciences from The University of Cambridge, England and subsequently completed a PhD in neuropharmacology, also from the University of Cambridge. After completing his academic studies he worked for a strategy consulting firm called Cambridge Pharma Consultancy (now IMS Health) and also worked in Wyeth from 2003 to 2009 where he led a number of large business transformation projects in R&D. In 2010 he relocated to Gaithersburg and joined MedImmune.
