Biography
Mr. Mark L. Offerhaus serves as the Chief Executive Officer of MICREOS BV and MICREOS Food Safety BV. Mr. Offerhaus has a background in finance, law and management. He founded, restructured and managed several successful privately owned biotechnology companies. He served as Managing Director at Exponential Biotherapies, Inc. Mr. Offerhaus joined the ING Group in 1986. In 1990/1991 he participated in the EU-sponsored “Executive Training Program” in Tokyo. After concluding this 18-months program. He joined the Board of Directors of ING Life Japan and one year later became its president. During his five year tenure in Japan he was also a director of the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Japan. After returning to The Netherlands he spent five years in several senior management positions in the ING Group. In 2001 he decided to pursue his passion: the development of biotechnology. He established the Biotech Development Group for which he acquired a majority stake in Primagen, developing molecular diagnostics for AIDS, cancer and Hepatitis, and active in the area of virus discovery). From 2001 to 2004, he served on the Board of Directors of Exponential Biotherapies Inc. In 2005, he and Hans Veldhuyzen van Zanten established Eco Investment Partners, which acquired Exponential Biotherapies’ Food Safety business, integrated in EBI Food Safety B.V. He holds a law degree at Leiden University.
