Biography
I received my PhD cum laude from Utrecht University in 2015, under the mentorship of Prof. René Bernards at the Netherlands Cancer institute. During the study, I used systematic approaches, primarily function-based genetic screens, to investigate resistance mechanisms of cancer to targeted therapies and designed effective therapeutic approaches that overcome such resistance. After graduation, I chose to stay at the NKI because of the world-class research groups and state-of-the-art facilities. I joined the group of Prof. Ton Schumacher at the end of 2015. Here I work on the development and application of high-throughput functional genetic tools to improve cancer immunotherapy and discover novel therapeutic targets.
