Biography
I have been working at the NKI since August 2010 and my main focus is immune monitoring of cancer patients treated with immune therapeutic interventions.
Research Interest
The main goal of this line of work is threefold: 1. Addressing what type of T cell specificities are relevant for clinical outcome to. Such knowledge will help trying to steer immune interventions and hopefully improve them. 2. Dissection of how immune interventions affects the cytotoxic T cell repertoire in cancer patients to create knowledge about the mechanism of action. 3. Assessment of immune competence of patients. No definite readout of immune competence is established yet but if we can achieve this it might help predict if patients can benefit from immune interventions. We are mainly working with polychromatic flow cytometry and in particular the peptide MHC combinatorial coding approach to assess these questions but also functional status of T cells.
