PhD from Erasmus Medical Centre, The Netherlands.

Research Interest

I joined Rene's group as a postdoctoral fellow after obtaining my PhD from Erasmus Medical Centre, The Netherlands. My main motivation is to understand and gain more insight into the role of epigenetic mechanisms in Cancer. I make use of loss of function and / or gain of function genetic screens to understand, for instance, the dependencies of oncogenic pathways on epigenetic processes. Personally, I think, working in an area like cancer gives one an opportunity to address patient relevant problems and at the same time answer some of the most basic questions in biology.
