Rienkje Van Boekel

Biography

Ms Van Boekel is a Lecturer in Educational Theory and Educational Science at Stenden’s teacher training college in Groningen, where she also helps set the curricula. She is both the founder of the Early Childhood Studies department and a member of the Research Group, which she joined in 2012. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher in Drachten, in the Friesland province in 1974 and went on to establish the primary school 't Foarhus together with a colleague in 1980. She has been working as a coach in the Lio trainee teacher programme since 1995. After taking various training courses, Van Boekel completed her Master’s degree in Educational Science at Groningen University in 2006.
