Biography
Werner Fuhrmann re-joined the Executive Committee in August 2017 to head up Specialty Chemicals and lead Specialty Chemicals through the separation process. Werner originally joined the Executive Committee in 2011 as Head Integrated Supply Chain and became responsible for the Specialty Chemicals businesses of AkzoNobel in 2012. Previously he held various positions in the field of auditing, finance and control. He was appointed General Manager of Chelates and Sulphur Products in 2000, before becoming Managing Director of Industrial Chemicals in 2005, a position he held until 2011. Werner was Chairman of the Dutch Association of the Chemicals Industry (VNCI) from 2010 until 2015. He was a Board member of the European Chemicals Association (Cefic) from 2012 until 2017 as well as a Board Member of the American Chemistry Council from 2011 until 2017.
