Biography
During his many years as a practicing dentist, Steve has amassed a wealth of clinical experience and, like Shalin, he is a committed teacher. He was a trainer for newly qualified dentists, joining the Northampton Vocational Training Scheme (VTS) from 1990 -2009, and he has been the Training Programme Director for the Oxford Foundation Training Scheme for a number of years. Steve’s success as a trainer was born out by his achievement in becoming National Vocational Trainer of the Year in 2008. Steve also works as a professional advisor to the GDC Dental Complaints Service. Here he provides reports in the capacity of an expert witness for dental conduct committees. In addition he has been a member of the Northampton Local Dental Committee since 1990. His differing roles, both inside and outside clinical practice, have provided Steve with a balanced perspective of the challenges, difficulties and opportunities faced by all members of the dental profession.
