David Bell

Biography

Dr. Bell has extensive management and executive experience at both for-profit and civil society organizations representing numerous sectors from politics and religion to human services and industry. Responsibilities ranged from administrative support areas to oversight of major operating divisions, as well as entrepreneurial training for community citizens. Service involved initiatives and tasks such as strategic planning, financial management, and social enterprise/commercial business operations. This includes over 20 years in the banking industry. Dr. Bell has assisted numerous organizations and leaders with training and technical assistance involving training in logic models for program evaluation, the use of benefit-cost analysis, and data management utilizing basic statistical techniques and tools. He has presented his work at both national and international conference, as well as published. He earned a bachelor of science from Michigan State University, where he majored in public affairs management and a master of public administration and doctorate in public and international affairs at University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs where he was a K. Leroy Irvis Fellow.

Research Interest

Leadership and accountability in public organizations. Questions involve matters such as: links between organizational and capital behavior; results oriented administration and social equity as explanations of autonomy and resource capacity.
