Biography
Dr. van Boeckel has collected more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry encompassing small molecules as well as biologics, including bioconjugates. His work at Organon BioSciences (acquired by Shering-Plough) led to the the approval of the antithrombotic drug Arixtra®. Prior positions held at Organon include Head of Medicinal Chemistry as well as Head of the Lead Discovery Unit. With significant experience in HTS, assay development and Hit-to-Lead chemistry, he was, he was appointed in June 2012 as the Chief Scientific Officer of the Pivot Park Screening Center, located in the Netherlands. He received his Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry from Leiden University where he has held his professorship since 1993.
