Biography
Gerlach J.N. Cerfontaine is part of the Knowledge and Industrial Dynamics project team at the UNU Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology, as well as a Professor of Regional Innovation Policy at Maastricht University. Cerfontaine was originally a doctor who went on to serve as manager of the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital and later the University Hospital in Utrecht. He recently retired from his position as CEO and President of the Schiphol Group, operators of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, after having led the company for 10 years.
