Biography
Nienke has the ambition to improve primary care for independently living older people. To achieve this goal her research focuses on the development and evaluation of nurse-led intervention programs in primary care aimed to prevent functional decline and maintain independence. She is working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care at the department of general practice and the department of Rehabilitation, Nursing Science (UMC Utrecht). She also works at the Leidsche Rijn Julius Gezondheidscentra as a project manager for elderly care. Since 2012 Nienke is a lecturer at the master program Nursing Science / Clinical Health Sciences at Utrecht University. Nienke is involved in several (National) projects that has been conducted within the National Care for the Elderly Program, a National initiative from the Ministry of Health launched in 2008.
