Biography

Rachel Brouwer obtained her PhD in the field of mathematics under supervision of Prof. J. van den Berg, at the Center of Mathematics and Computer Science in 2005. The title of her PhD was “Percolation, forest-fires and monomer-dimers, or the hunt for self-organized criticality”. Since april 2006, she is working in the Department of Psychiatry of the University Medical Center Utrecht, were she is senior researcher on the BrainSCALE project, a longitudinal twin study into healthy development of brain and cognition during puberty, and the genetic and environmental components that influence this development. She is involved in the twin studies of the department, and in development of post-processing of MRI data and its statistical analysis.
