Biography
Rolf Groenwold is associate professor of Epidemiology. His research focuses on the development, improvement and evaluation of methods for causal research, in particular methods to assess the effects of medical interventions (e.g. drugs). Over the last years, part of his research was performed under the umbrella of the European IMI-PROTECT project in which he led the international working group on methodology for pharmacoepidemiological studies of adverse drug events. Since October 2013, he collaborates in another IMI project (GetReal), which focuses on new methodology for studies of the effectiveness of drugs, before and directly after they have entered the market.
