Biography
C.M. (Kees) Cappon (born 1953) studied history and law at the University of Amsterdam. In 1992 he obtained his doctorate with a dissertation on the rise of the will in the Utrecht Sticht until the middle of the fourteenth century. In the period 2008-2013 he held the special chair History of the notarial profession, set up by the Foundation for the Promotion of Notarial Science in Amsterdam. Since 2013 he is just professor of Institutional Foundations of Law in Europe from a historical perspective.
