Biography
ngrid de Zwarte is a PhD candidate and lecturer in the Department of Modern History at the University of Amsterdam. Her PhD project investigates the causes and effects of the Dutch famine of 1944-45 (the 'Hunger Winter'), with a specific focus on social responses and coping strategies. This research is funded by the Amsterdam School of Historical Studies (ASH) and facilitated by the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide studies through a zero-time appointment. In the fall of 2016 Ingrid was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in New York City.
