Biography
Jaap Barneveld is a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in the field of corporate law and insolvency law. In 2014 he obtained his doctorate (cum laude) at the UvA for his thesis on financing and asset withdrawal by shareholders. Jaap has been a student at Columbia University in New York and has been visiting researcher at Yale Law School in New Haven as part of his PhD research. In 2016 Jaap will teach the course 'Critical Analyzes of Corporate Finance and Insolvency Laws' at the Faculty of Law and the course 'Corporate Governance' to students in law and economics. He also gives courses to lawyers, notaries, corporate lawyers and accountants, for example in the context of post academic education (PO) and the continuing trainee program (VSO).
