Biography
Maiko Meguro joined the Amsterdam Center for International Law in September 2016. Her research is focused on international law making process through the lense of interction between decision making at domestic and international level. She also works for Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan where she previously worked 5 years as a legal officer specialized in international negotiations. During her time in office, she served for COP/CMP processes under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC), Intergovernmental Panels of Climate Change(IPCC) and several investment related treaties including Trans-Pacific Partnership(TPP) and EU-Japan EPA. She also worked as a researcher at several institutions including the Energy Charter Treaty, Brussels. Maiko has a LLM in Public International Law from the University of Amsterdam, and a Master's in International Relations(specialized in international law) from the University of Tokyo, Japan.
