Biography
Mireille van Eechoud is director of studies for the LLM. Information Law programme and teaches in a number of its courses. Her research activities in the field of information law concern three key themes: the development of international and European intellectual property rights (especially copyright and database law), the emerging European norms on freedom of information and access to public sector information, and private international law aspects of information law. From December 2012, Van Eechoud holds the new faculty chair in Information Law, in particular in the field of access to information. A focal point of her research in the coming years will be the regulatory framework for public information from the perspective of transparency, fundamental communication rights and innovation.
