Biography
itia Bos works as an Associate professor Private Law at the Faculty of Law as well as at the Faculty of Economics and Business where she coordinates and lectures inter alia Corporate law. In previous years she also lectured (Dutch) Insolvency Law at the Faculty of Law and Dutch Contract-, Property- and Insolvency Law as well as Labour Law and International Financial Law at the Faculty of Economics and Business and. The research of Titia Bos covers the intersection between corporate law, property law and private international law, focusing on international insolvency law, connected to the subject of her dissertation. She is accepted as a researcher of the international (European) Ius Commune Research School. Titia Bos was from 2003-2015 a member of the Netherlands Standing Government Committee on Private International Law. Titia Bos studied Sociology (University of Amsterdam and University of Antwerp) and Private Law as well as Public Law (Free University in Amsterdam).For her Master Thesis at the Free University she received a second prize, awarded by a Law Foundation aimed at the rent of land Previously to her function at the University of Amsterdam, Titia Bos worked as a researcher and as a staff member at the Dutch Trade Union Confederation (FNV) and in those functions she participated in some committees of the European Trade Union Confederation and in national Dutch advisory boards. During two terms - in the seventies and eighties of last century, respectively - she was an elected member of the regional parliament (Provinciale Staten) of North Holland.
