Biography
Pedro de Sena is an external Ph.D. candidate researching on the general topic of international labour migration law at ACELG and the Department of Constitutional Law. His research "Transgovernmental cooperation networks and norm formation processes for the protection of migrant workers in Asia" is carried out under the supervision of Prof. Betty de Hart and Dr. Tesseltje de Lange and focuses on the role Regional Consultative Processes (RCPs) might have for the legal protection of migrant workers. Pedro holds an LLM degree in Public International Law, with Merit, from the University of London (2014) and an LLM in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law, with Distinction, from the University of Hong Kong (2007). His LLB was obtained from the University of Lisbon (1993) and focused on Legal and Economic Sciences. Professionally, Pedro is a chief legal adviser for the Macau S.A.R. Legislative Assembly, the local parliament of this Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, where he lives. In this capacity he has been involved in the legislative process of several major pieces of legislation on labour law, social security, migration and migrant workers.
